PROGRAM OUTLINE
Over four weeks, actors will work with sides, perform on camera, watch their work back, receive individualized feedback, and discover how to make natural, effective choices for the screen.
WEEK 1 — ON CAMERA
Get comfortable in front of the camera and explore how screen acting differs from acting on stage. Work with sides, learn how to work with a reader, and receive personalized feedback on your performance.
WEEK 2 — BUILD YOUR SKILLS
Develop your technique with a focus on listening, natural reactions, and making strong acting choices. Film your work, watch it back, and apply direction to strengthen your performance.
WEEK 3 — AUDITION TECHNIQUE
Work with new audition sides and explore what it’s like to prepare and perform a self-tape. Learn how to approach audition material, take direction, and bring authentic choices to your performance.
WEEK 4 — MOCK AUDITION
Put everything you’ve learned into practice with a mock on-camera audition in front of a special industry guest. Perform your prepared sides, receive direction and personalized feedback, and finish with an industry Q&A about Film & TV and the audition process.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of the Lab, actors will leave with valuable on-camera experience, greater confidence, and a better understanding of the Film & TV audition process.
No previous on-camera experience is required.
